Pantalla negra cuando inicio con la batería puesta.

Buenas, el motivo de la creación de este thread es el siguiente:
Tengo una Netbook CX con un Intel Atom Cedar Trail N2600 1.6Ghz, 2gb DDR3, etc.
Antes que nada, quiero decir que estuve buscando en éste foro y no pude encontrar nada similar, tal vez haya buscado mal o poco.
Bueno, paso a contarles mi problema, cuando quiero iniciar Kubuntu con la batería conectada, luego de ingresar el usuario y la contraseña, aparentemente carga el SO, porque aparecen los iconitos de las distintas partes, pero luego de eso la pantalla se oscurece hasta quedar completamente negra. Lo raro es que el cursor se ve, pero nada más, todo negro a excepción del cursor que si se puede mover. En cambio, si inicio sin la batería conectada, es decir a la corriente directa funciona correctamente, es decir, sólo puedo usar Kubuntu cuando uso la netbook sin la batería.
También he estado googleando, de lo cual encontré poco y no entendí mucho (soy más que novato en ésto). Las posibles soluciones que daban eran las siguientes:
1-Instalar una versión del Kernel anterior, ya que posiblemente el problema era con ésta nueva versión (JJ puede ser¿?), recomendaban volver a la HH. Pero podría traer como consecuencias fallos en algunas aplicaciones.
2- Compilar un nuevo DTS (Chino básico para mi)
3- Agregar al GRUB la siguiente línea "acpi=off", pero ésto deshabilitaba muchas funciones de la parte gráfica y/o video.

puedes acceder a una tty con ctrl + alt + f1?

tienes otro equipo con el que acceder mediante ssh para que te resulte más sencillo depurar el problema y aportar datos?

A mi me pasa exactamente lo mismo. Tengo un netbook Asus intel atom n450. A ver si alguien puede ayudarnos...

por otro lado si que se puede acceder a terminal di que quieres que ponga y lo adjunto.

Solo me ha servido la tercera de las opciones que ponias. Esto lo he hecho con el ordenador conectado a la toma de corriente por lo que no me ha pasado lo de la pantalla en negro. Si quieres que lo haga cuando la pantalla este en negro(es decir con la bateria puesta) dimelo.Gracias de antemano

evidentemente los logs (archivos de registro) son útiles cuando hay un problema. Así, que sí. habría que ver los logs que se generan cuando hay un pantallazo negro de esos, de ahí mi sugerencia de conectar por ssh cuando se pusiera negra la pantalla

Y si solo te ha servido la tercera, mal vamos. el log del xorg es el más importante, y el de kdm después.

Bueno, para el compañero YaphetS, no hace falta conectarse tener otro equipo y conectarse por ssh. Lo que yo he hecho ha sido abrir un terminal (Control+Alt+F1) y desde ahí, tras loguearme, copiar el fichero en otra carpeta con esta orden:

cp /var/log/syslog /home/directorioatueleccion/nombredelarchivo

luego cierras sesión, la vuelves a abrir con el ordenador conectado a corriente y vas al directorioatueleccion para ver el archivo.

Esto a mi me ha servido solo para la tercera de las ordenes porque las otras dos no los encuentro. MIrar a ver si tu encuentras los otros 2.

Lo he vuelto a hacer esta vez con los resultados tras encender con la pantalla negra. Lo que me sale para el syslog es un archivo tan grande que al postearlo aqui no sale nada. Para poder mandartelo si quieres mandame un privado con tu email y te lo envio ok?

Los otros dos archivos voy a ver si los encuentro por algún otro sitio...

El archivo xorg.0.log lo he encontrado pero resulta que era con mayusculas de ahi que no me lo abriese...

Por ejemplo el Kernel 3.12, sin importar que diga que es para Saucy (puede usarse en cualquier versión). Generalmente son necesarios 3 paquetes .deb. Uno "all" y los dos restantes correspondientes para la misma arquitectura del sistema instalado. Descargados los 3 paquetes a una misma carpeta, se instalan con "sudo dpkg -i *.deb".
El punto 3 se puede probar "al vuelo" sin tocar la configuración del GRUB. Si mal no he entendido, el booteo funciona bien con la batería. Entonces con la batería conectada, para añadir esa opción "acpi=off", al iniciar el ordenador cuando aparecen las opciones del GRUB (si no aparecen presionar tecla ESC), posarse sobre el Kernel a iniciar y presionar la tecla E. Editar y añadir la opción "acpi=off" donde corresponda. Para más información, buscar en Google:

Los logs del sistema también es posible verlos ingresando desde el DVD o LiveUSB de Kubuntu, pero dirigiéndose a la partición donde tienen instalado Kubuntu, y no en la raíz del sistema Live. Aunque no entiendo bien cual es el problema si supuestamente el sistema es accesible cuando se inicia con el cable de alimentación conectado.

He leído que algunas notebooks tienen una opción llamada "BIOS battery meter" que generalmente se accede con las teclas Fn+F3. Al parecer esa función se puede configurar, o activar y desactivar desde la BIOS. ¿Han hecho pruebas al respecto para determinar si el problema puede estar relacionado con eso?
